Amadea

$3,500.00

Amadea is built as a convergence of aged tonewood, structural discipline, and deliberate material contrast.

The top plate is cut from spruce harvested in 1967, matched internally with spruce from the same era for the bass bar, lining, and soundpost, preserving continuity of stiffness and resonance across the primary acoustic structure. The ribs, neck, and bridge are maple seasoned since 1995, forming a stable geometric frame around the older core.

The back is crafted from bloodwood (2005). dense, visually commanding, and structurally assertive, with zircote inlay (2018) echoing the fingerboard’s dark, glass-like surface. Koa inlay (2008) at the top adds warmth and visual movement against the spruce. Purfling in maple and walnut reinforces the layered wood dialogue throughout the instrument.

Structural elements are intentional and uncompromised:

  • Blocking: Western red cedar (1994)

  • Top and internal acoustic members: Spruce (1967)

  • Tailpiece: Bloodwood (1994) with figured Claro walnut (1997)

  • Chin rest: Yellow cedar (1998)

  • Pegs and end pin: Ebony (2024)

  • Top nut: Deer antler

  • Lower nut: Bloodwood

Amadea balances density and elasticity — the aged spruce core providing clarity and responsiveness, the bloodwood back contributing projection and focus. Every material is selected not only for beauty, but for structural stability and tonal intent.

This is an instrument built from decades-seasoned wood, assembled with precision, and designed to remain stable and expressive for generations.
